Welcome to the ZidaLab

At ZidaLab, we build microfluidic technologies that make molecular and cellular measurements faster, smaller, and more accessible. Our work connects biomedical engineering, single-cell and single-molecule analysis, and computational imaging to create practical tools for precision medicine.

Based at Shenzhen University, we work in the heart of one of China’s most dynamic technology and biomedical innovation hubs. Our goal is to turn elegant microscale engineering into assays that can answer real biological and clinical questions.

What We Study

Ultra-sensitive diagnostics

Single-molecule immunoassays and digital nucleic acid tests that detect rare biomarkers with practical, scalable workflows.

Single-cell tools

Droplet microfluidic platforms for isolating, perturbing, screening, barcoding, and sequencing individual cells at high throughput.

AI-enabled assays

Image analysis and machine learning methods that read complex assay outputs and extract quantitative biological signals.

Key Technologies

  • Deep-dLAMP: label-free digital nucleic acid testing using polydisperse droplets, precipitate readouts, and deep learning.
  • iddELISA: inclusive droplet digital immunoassay with a statistical framework that uses more of the data instead of discarding informative droplets.
  • CP-seq: high-throughput single-cell screening for combinatorial perturbation studies.
  • Point-of-care microfluidics: compact assays for clinically relevant measurements, including coagulation and blood mechanics.
